Pentagon Gouge: Lowe's Military Discount

In the past, stores like Lowes and Home Depot have offered 10% military discounts on holidays like Veteran's Day and Memorial Day. In case you hadn't heard, Lowes just decided to give their 10% military discount ALL DAY EVERY DAY! BZ to Lowes!

So don't be disappointed if you missed the President's Day sales last weekend with all the snow piled everywhere. Go to Lowes when it's convenient for you and just take your military ID card with you.

Aside: I've always been partial to HD over Lowes. Just to be fair to HD, I did search around to see if they also offered it, but found no info about HD offering a discount outside of the holidays.

In the past I've gotten a discount at Home Depot, but you have to ask and show your ID.

We've gotten the discount down here at HD (non-holiday time)...but like Oz said...have to ask and show ID. I just chalked up the 24/7 discount to it being the area (although when we lived here before it was just during spec. holidays).

Oz and Tanya - I don't think it's consistent across the country. We've tried asking for the discount at HD on non-sale-weekends and been turned down. I think what's notable here is that corporate Lowes is proclaiming the policy throughout the land, whereas with HD it just depends on the local managers.

I never posted about this (I think?), but we're also bigger Lowes fans. Especially after they took a washer/dryer back that was a POS after several attempts to repair it and the replacement was "pick out any you want" of coruse, that was after we contacted the president of Lowes. But, let me tell you, THAT got immediate results.

Last weekend, the Home Depot in Astoria, Oregon, had a sign at the special services desk noting the 10% military discount. It was limited to $200/transaction, and couldn't be combined with any other discount.
